Spotlight on the Boeing B737-800
“Whether you’re transporting staff on a corporate incentive trip or flying friends and family to a destination wedding, the Boeing B737-800 is a reliable, comfortable and cost-effective air charter solution,” says our Commercial Jets Assistant Director for London, Marianne Irving.
The versatile B737-800 has long been one of the most popular aircraft to charter for our customers in the UK and Europe. Here, Marianne explains why this midsize business jet is so sought-after.
The Boeing B737-800 – a snapshot
“The 737-800 is the most successful aircraft in Boeing's 'Next Generation' 737 line and the most-requested aircraft in our London office for commercial jet charters,” says Marianne. “There are nearly 1,000 currently in use within Europe, which demonstrates its popularity in the region.
“This workhorse of the skies has been in production for nearly 30 years and remains an enduring symbol of aviation excellence, thanks to its impressive range, passenger capacity and fuel-efficiency.”
“The 737-800 is a versatile aircraft that can be easily adapted to different routes and passenger demands,” Marianne explains. “It can fly nonstop between most European cities, making it ideal for those covering longer distances, and it’s a great option for large groups who want to combine the comfort and privacy of a private jet with the capacity of a commercial airliner.
“The 737-800 is also renowned for its economic efficiency, meaning it offers a good balance between operating costs and performance – a crucial factor for our customers, as they benefit from a competitive seat rate without compromising on performance.”
“All these qualities make the 737-800 an in-demand solution for a wide range of charter customers, but especially those with diverse service offerings, as they know they’re getting a reliable aircraft that can always meet their needs.”
The interior
“Quieter and more spacious than predecessors in the 737 family, the 737-800 has a customisable interior that can be configured in a range of layouts,” says Marianne. “The most popular has 189 economy class seats in rows of six, which is perfect if you’re travelling in a large group and need the largest possible passenger capacity. Other options include a 162-seat two-class set-up and a luxurious all-first-class layout, with just 76 seats and club tables.
“The cabin has been designed with passenger comfort in mind, boasting larger windows and a quieter interior than earlier 737 variants. Wide seats provide passengers with plenty of legroom, making for a comfortable flight even in an economy layout, and there’s plenty of space for hand luggage in the overhead compartments.”
Tailored to your requirements
“The Boeing 737-800’s winning combination of efficiency, versatility and passenger comfort makes it well-suited to various customer demands,” Marianne concludes. “We often recommend the aircraft for large groups travelling to conferences or sporting events, but the highly customisable interior can be quickly adapted for a wide range of requirements.
“If you want to elevate your charter experience even further, your dedicated account manager and our in-house flight services team can add personalised details featuring your brand, crest or logo, from headrest covers and coasters to napkins and amenity kits. We can also arrange bespoke inflight catering, accommodating any special dietary requirements.”
